ALL ARE WELCOME

We are a community of ordinary folks joined in faith and empowered in worship to care for others by sharing Christ's love. Living in the grace of a loving Creator, motivated by the compassion of our Lord and inspired by the Spirit we seek to minister to one another, to our neighbors and to people throughout our global village.

Grounded in a rich tradition dating back to 1890, we celebrate our unique gifts, struggle with life's challenges and work diligently to keep our hearts, minds, and arms open to new people and possibilities.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH

“Equipping the Saints” for ministry begins in worship and, as has been the case since the congregation was founded in 1890, worship practices and traditions have changed many times during the past 126 years. Today Sunday morning worship alternates between a traditional liturgy with piano or organ accompaniment and a contemporary liturgy featuring guitar accompaniment. On Wednesday evenings  a service of Word, prayer and communion is offered using the Holden Evening Prayer Service.

 MINISTRIES

At the heart of Deerfield Lutheran’s Mission Statement is the calling, as followers of Christ, to carry on His ministry of caring for others.  This is done through community activities and mission work both locally and globally.
